Müllerpier - Rotterdam, the Netherlands
Screens were installed to prevent annoying sunrays on the digital boards.
The new Sanden development project under construction in the port of Larvik, is in stark contrast to the surrounding traditional Norwegian buildings. The project is part of the port area modernisation process. The architect responsible for the design of the office building drew inspiration from the highly renowned Finnish Alvar Aalto vase.
The main criterion governing the selection of sun blinds was that the buildings’ tenants had to retain an uninterrupted clear view of the port’s surroundings while performing their work. The rather tempestuous nature of the weather prevalent in this coastal area ultimately proved a decisive factor in the decision to fit 300 SolidScreen Standard models supplied by Smits.
As the first on the Dutch market, SolidScreen is now available in the National Environmental Database (NMD). All SolidScreens in our range are now registered in category 1 of the database. This is the highest of the 3 available categories, accurately describing the environmental performance of products.
